Celebrating Mercy

On Sunday 20th November, the feast of Christ the King, the Church invites young people to be at the heart of our celebration of National Youth Sunday and the closing of the Year of Mercy.

What is Mercy?

Mercy is love in action. A merciful person meets people’s basic needs, heals wounds and forgives wrongdoing. God’s mercy is seen in the redeeming work of Jesus #HeisMercy. God loves us just as we are but he loves us too much to leave us where we are. He wants to reach into our lives, to free us from everything that hardens our hearts. His mercy enables us to reach the potential he has placed within us, which is why we pray ‘Lord have mercy.’
