Session 2: Gather

Roman Missal

“The liturgy is never a mere meeting of a group of people, who make up their own form of celebration... We stand both as members of the worldwide community of the whole Church and also of the communion of saints. Yes, in a certain sense this is the liturgy of heaven.”
Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Pope Benedict XVI, in God and the World

Overview

This session looks at why we gather, and what difference it makes being part of a community. It will get your group to think about the question many teenagers ask: why do I need to go to church when I can pray in my bedroom? Through silly games and discussion the group will see what it means to be part of a community, and through a project, focus in on what they love about their own particular parish.
